Charity Support

As well as providing high quality commercial properties to let across Huddersfield and Leeds, Towndoor as support many local charities, sports team and events. Below you can find information on the many different things we are involved with during this year.


Duke of York Community Initiative - The Duke of York’s Community Initiative is a Royal Award which is presented to community projects based in Yorkshire where there is real value to the community. All schemes much be owned, developed and run by those in the community.


Meltham Wildlife Rescue – Based in Meltham, the family run centre helps to care for, rehabilitate and carry out emergency treatment on injured and orphaned young animals. With four outstanding intensive care units, they provide real value to the wildlife in the local area.

Forget Me Not – Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice provide outstanding care for young children who are suffering from life-shortening conditions and their families from their purpose built Hospice house in Huddersfield. Towndoor has recently signed up for a 12 month donation commitment to the charity to help them offer more superb support.


Town Foundation – The Huddersfield Town Foundation was set up by HTAFC Chairman Dean Hoyle in 2012 and is designed to benefit as many youngsters cross the Huddersfield community. With day trips and breakfasts for children who would often go without, it is having a huge impact in the area.


Keep it up Campaign – The Yorkshire Air Ambulance’s ‘Keep it up Campaign’ is essential is helping to raise funds to ensure they can continue to provide life-saving services. Last year they passed £1m in monies raised from the campaign and has major support from Huddersfield Town Football Club.


Birds on Bicycles – The group sees women raise money for various charities each year, riding their bikes up and down the country to spread the word of what they do.



Cancer Research – This national charity provides outstanding support to those suffering with cancer, providing the necessary funds to develop new treatments and drugs. There are many different types of cancer and it’s impact can be felt by many people. With the strapline of ‘Let’s beat cancer sooner’ they are doing everything they can to prevent it killing thousands of people each year.


Meltham War Veterans – A local charity providing support to the veteran from Meltham who put themselves on the line during any war to help our country


Kirkwood Hospice - Kirkwood Hospice aims to improve the lives of people with incurable conditions across the Kirklees area. Whether at the Hospice, in the home or out in the community, They provide outstanding support and make sure that those in their care have the opportunity to live the best quality of life possible, ensuring that they make the most of every single day.


Local Clubs/Teams

Crosland Heath Golf Club – The 100 year old golf course is situated in the hills of Colne Valley and provide a challenge for both new golfers and those with years’ experience. Voted as one of the best winter golf courses in 2011, it attracts visitors all year round.


Armitage Bridge Cricket Club – Armitage Bridge Cricket Club is host to many local cricket teams, with open age and junior teams across the board. During the summer months there is often a game every evening with hundreds of people enjoying the traditional game.


Huddersfield Town – The Championship side are huge supporters of our community and Towndoor looks to help them when we can. With many community projects to get involved with, they provide ongoing support to the local area and are a huge credit to the local area.

Community Events:

Monkey Fest 2016 – The Monkey Fest, in Armitage Bridge, takes plays on the weekend of 2nd/3rd July 2016 and features 60 real ales and ciders, with muscle for many different acts. It helps to raise money form many local charities, including The Yorkshire Air Ambulance.


Honley Show 2016 – The Honley Agricultural Show takes place on Saturday 11th June and features stunt teams, axe throwing, tractor parades as well as many animal and handcraft attractions.


T3 Farm Challenge -  Towndoor is a main sponsor of this year’s T3 Farm Challenge taking place in Crossley Farm in Mirfield on Saturday 3rd September 2016, starting at 12pm. The event, all in aid of Kirkwood Hospice, is a 5km course with over 20 obstacles to negotiate, testing competitors on a range of different disciplines.
