About Meltham Mills Reservoir, Holmfirth, HD9 4HL
Learn about Meltham Mills Reservoir – a beautiful location in West Yorkshire
Meltham Mills Reservoir is a 200 year old reservoir adjacent to Meltham Mills Industrial Estate set within 12 acres of woodland which was purpose built in 1805 to supply water to a cotton factory owned by Jonas Brook & Bros.
The reservoir was even used as an Ice rink by local residents when it completely froze over in 1881.
Since we took over ownership of the reservoir we have made many repairs and improvements to its maintenance.
Its location in Holmfirth is rich in wildlife that’s enjoyed by our tenant, Windybank Fishing Club. It is also accessible by a public footpath and is close to leisure facilities like the Meltham Golf Club and the Meltham Sports & Community Centre.
For more information take a look at the Reservoir Brochure.
Please note that vehicular access is not permitted at the reservoir, please use Knowle Lane for parking when visiting.
