It has long been planned that we would be developing the old Business Park within Gate 1 at Meltham Mills Industrial Estate, and after some years of planning and a break with Covid-19, Phase 1 commenced with the construction of Unit Q1.

Following the demolition of the final building at the Business Park, Q1 underwent around 14 months of construction before completing in March 2022. The site required piling to ensure structural stability, and for the majority of 2021, the construction consisted of site preparation and foundation building. 

The building consists of a steel structural frame with anthracite cladded sheets, this is in keeping with the industrial aesthetic of the estate. Externally there are two terraces for guests to dine outside, a staff compound area, and a tarmac car park.

Following completion in March 2022, Lu's Place was born and has been an extreme hit with guests visiting from both local areas and further afield!

Towndoor plays an active role in the maintenance and management of the building and the site for Lu’s Place.
