Towndoor Ltd Founded

Towndoor Ltd founded by Stuart Bamforth, took ownership of a large portion of J.I.Case’s Meltham Mills Factory which was developed over the next decade to become Meltham Mills Industrial Estate, offering a variety of commercial units ranging from 300 – 35,000 sq. Ft.

Meltham Mills Reservoir

Towndoor took ownership of the local Meltham Mills Reservoir in 2013, when its previous owners were no longer able to continue the maintenance required to appease the Environment Agency. Towndoor became its primary undertaker, responsible for the maintenance and safety of the reservoir, spending over three quarters of a million pounds installing a new primary spillway. As well as providing the local community with stunning views and footpaths, the reservoir also provides Meltham Mills Industrial Estate with a firefighting water supply.

The Dyeworks

Towndoor purchased the site of a former spinning mill in Huddersfield in 2015 and invested over £2m for the development of a new commercial estate, consisting of 8 high specification trade counter units. The site was developed in two phases and completed in 2016.

After acquiring the site in 2015, Towndoor developed a £1m state of the art children’s day nursery. The property has a contemporary yet natural aesthetic, being cladded in treated timber, rendered in smooth grey, and benefiting from floor to ceiling aluminium windows and doors. Amenities include two spacious outdoor play areas, disabled access lift, solar PV system and parking/drop off facilities for parents.
