We are excited to present Phase 1 of the transformation of Unit O1 at Meltham Mills Industrial Estate through the installation of a new insulated steel-clad roof. We started this project to revamp the warehouse and replace the old asbestos-ridden roof. Let's explore the project's details and the substantial benefits it has brought!
The project's primary objective was to replace the aging asbestos roof that posed various issues. The warehouse, spanning an impressive 23,400 ft², demanded a comprehensive solution to create a secure and productive environment for its occupants. The decision to opt for an insulated steel-clad roof not only addressed the immediate concerns but also opened doors to an array of long-term advantages.
Enhanced Safety and Health: The primary advantage of the new roof is the removal of hazardous asbestos. The removal of the old roofing material eradicated the risk of exposure, ensuring a safer working environment for both the tenant and our maintenance team.
Improved Energy Efficiency: The insulated steel-clad roof brings energy efficiency to the forefront. Its enhanced insulation properties help maintain stable indoor temperatures, reducing the reliance on heating and cooling systems. As a result, energy consumption will be significantly reduced, leading to cost savings and a reduced environmental footprint.
Increased Productivity: Occupants within Unit O1 will now experience an improved atmosphere with increased natural light due to the new roof lights.
Enhanced Durability and Longevity: The robust nature of insulated steel ensures the new roof's longevity and resistance to wear and tear. Its durability provides a long-lasting solution, reducing maintenance requirements in the long run and providing a reliable structure that withstands the test of time.
Environmental Friendliness: The project aligns with eco-conscious practices by responsibly disposing of the old asbestos roofing material. Additionally, the new roof's energy-efficient properties contribute to reducing the building's carbon footprint, supporting the Towndoor's commitment to environmental sustainability.
The re-roofing project for Unit O1 at Meltham Mills Industrial Estate has been a success, with far-reaching benefits for all involved. By replacing the old asbestos roof with a cutting-edge insulated steel-clad structure, we have transformed the warehouse into a safe, bright, energy-efficient, and productive space.
As Phase 1 of this project comes to an end, we eagerly look forward to completing the second half in the coming years. We'll be documenting the next phase once it begins so stay tuned!
